Stipend & Costs

This NEH Summer Institute will provide teacher participants with lodging and cover the costs of all sites, intra-city transportation, and many meals; it does not provide airfare, the required readings, daily lunches & dinners, incidentals, and the Turkish Visa, all of which participants will purchase on their own.  Each NEH Summer Scholar (i.e., each teacher participant) will receive a stipend of $1,350 for this institute.  $1000 will be disbursed about 30 days before the Summer Institute and the remaining funds after the program’s conclusion.   This stipend is designed to offset the cost of airfare and other necessities, though will need to be supplemented by additional funds.
